When you visit our site, the web server automatically processes:
When you make a purchase, our payment provider collects your name, email address, billing country, and payment details. We do not see or store your full payment details at any time.
When you use Your Library, our web app, we store your email address, the password you choose at checkout or in your account settings (only as a salted hash, never in readable form), the bundles you own and where they came from (an order or a code), the time you sign in, the one-time sign-in links we send you (only as a hashed value) and a record of each signed-in browser, so that you can sign out everywhere. Your reading place, favourites and night-mode choice are kept in your own browser, not on our servers.
When you sign up for our free content by email, we receive the email address you enter.
At checkout you can tick an optional box to let us email you. If you tick it, we store your email address, the bundle you chose, and the time and wording of your consent, and we may send you up to 5 emails about your journey, including offers and personal discount codes, until you buy or unsubscribe. The box is never ticked for you. Every email has a 1-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops these emails at once. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time.

Purchases are processed by our merchant of record, Paddle (Paddle.com Market Ltd, Judd House, 18-29 Mora Street, London EC1V 8BT, United Kingdom; for customers in the United States, Paddle.com Inc.). Paddle handles the checkout, payment processing, invoicing and applicable VAT and sales tax on digital products. When you buy, your order data (name, email, billing country, payment method) is processed by Paddle under its own privacy policy, available at paddle.com/legal/privacy. Paddle shares with us the information we need to fulfil your order and provide support: your email address, your name, your country, what you bought and the order reference. Orders placed before our switch to Paddle were processed by Payhip Ltd (United Kingdom, payhip.com/privacy) on the same basis.
Our web app, Your Library (app.his-silence.com), and its database are hosted by Railway Corp. (San Francisco, USA) on servers in the European Union (Amsterdam). Railway processes the data described in section 2 on our behalf under a data processing agreement; transfers outside the EU, if any, are protected by safeguards such as EU standard contractual clauses. The devotionals, audiobooks and artworks themselves are stored in our own Google Drive and served to you by our server; Google does not receive your identity.
One-time sign-in links and other emails the app sends you (for example a purchase confirmation) are delivered by MailerSend (UAB MailerLite, Paupio g. 46, Vilnius, Lithuania), which processes your email address and delivery events (sent, delivered, bounced) under its privacy policy at mailersend.com/legal/privacy-policy. These are transactional emails you trigger yourself; they contain no marketing.
If you request free materials, buy a bundle or join our email list, your email address is processed by MailerLite (UAB MailerLite, Vilnius, Lithuania), under its privacy policy at mailerlite.com/legal/privacy-policy. We use confirmed opt-in: after you enter your address, we send you one email asking you to confirm it, and you are added to our list only after you click the link in that email. We record the time of your request and of your confirmation as proof that you consented. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and you may withdraw your consent at any time with a single click. MailerLite is based in the European Union. Where it uses service providers outside the EU, those transfers are covered by safeguards such as EU standard contractual clauses.
Only if you enable Advertising measurement in our privacy panel does this site load the Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd). The pixel tells us whether our ads on Facebook and Instagram led to visits and purchases, and it shares data such as your IP address and pages visited with Meta, which may connect this activity to your Meta account. Details are in Meta's privacy policy at facebook.com/privacy/policy. If you reject or disable this purpose, the pixel is not loaded on the next page view.
To understand how many people visit this site and which parts of it they use, we run Umami Analytics (Umami Software, Inc., USA). Umami is a privacy-focused analytics service that works without cookies: it stores nothing on your device and does not track you across other websites. It does not create a profile of you, and it never receives your name, email address or order details.
For each visit, Umami records the page viewed, the referring website, and general information such as country, browser, operating system and device type. It also records anonymous events that tell us which parts of the page are used, for example when someone opens a bundle, plays the audiobook sample, or clicks through to the checkout. Your IP address is used only momentarily to work out your approximate country and to recognise repeat page views within a single visit. It is converted into an irreversible hash with a key that changes daily, and the IP address itself is never stored.
Although Umami does not set cookies, we load it only if you enable Analytics in our privacy panel. The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. Umami processes this data on servers in the United States under a data processing agreement with us; transfers are protected by safeguards such as EU standard contractual clauses. Umami's privacy policy is available at umami.is/privacy.
You can turn Analytics or Advertising measurement on or off at any time through Privacy choices in the shop footer. Withdrawing a choice takes effect on the next page view and does not affect checkout or access to the site.
The site stores a few small technical values in your browser's local storage: your privacy choices and whether you have already seen the gift popup. Your privacy choice is kept for up to 12 months so that we can respect it without asking on every visit. The Meta Pixel (see above) sets cookies only with your consent. Umami sets no cookies and writes nothing to your browser. Paddle may set cookies that are necessary for processing your payment. Your Library sets one strictly necessary cookie when you sign in (wgsl_access, six months) that holds your signed session; without it the app cannot know you are signed in. The app also keeps your reading place, favourites and display choices in your browser's local storage; none of that leaves your device.
Order and invoice data is kept for as long as German tax and commercial law requires (up to 10 years under § 147 AO). Your account in Your Library and the record of what you own are kept for as long as you hold a purchase, so that your library stays open to you; you can ask us to delete them at any time, which ends your access. Email list data is kept until you unsubscribe. Support emails are kept only as long as needed to help you. Server logs are kept for a short period for security purposes.

The site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Payments are handled entirely by our payment provider over encrypted connections; your card details never touch our systems.
Our site and products are intended for adults and are not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
